Direct messages and group chats
Message someone privately, start a group, and control who is allowed to reach you.

Messages in your sidebar holds every private conversation you are part of.
Starting a conversation
Open someone's profile and select Message, or go to Messages and start a new one by searching for a person.
Group chats
You can add several people to one conversation. Inside a group you can:
- Name the group, so it is recognisable in your inbox.
- Add and remove people, if you are a group admin.
- Pin a message to keep something important at the top.
- Mention someone with @ so they are notified specifically.
- Forward a message into another conversation.
- Browse everything shared in the media gallery for that group.
Messages show Seen by so you can tell who has read them.
What you can send
Text, images, and files. Links get a preview card where the destination allows it.
Who can message you
Anyone signed in can start a conversation with you, unless you have blocked them.
Blocking is the control here. A blocked person cannot message you or open a conversation with you. Manage your list under Settings → Privacy → Blocked users, where you can also unblock someone.
Messages are private, not secret
Direct messages are visible only to the people in the conversation. Platform moderators cannot read them — the restriction is enforced at the database level, and the admin tools have no screen that shows message contents.
They are not secret, though. Messages are stored on our servers and are not end-to-end encrypted. Never send passwords, verification codes, identity documents, or bank details in a direct message — to anyone, on any platform.
If someone is harassing you in a conversation, see how to report content — there is a limitation worth knowing about.
